Administrator Michael Regan Message to EPA Employees - FY 2022-2026 EPA Strategic Plan March 28, 2022
Dear Colleagues,
I am proud to announce that today, EPA issued its FY 2022-2026 EPA Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan establishes the roadmap to achieve the Agency's and Administration's priorities over the next four years. This Strategic Plan deepens EPA'S commitment to protecting human health and the environment for all Americans, with a focus on communities that have been historically overburdened and underserved. The Plan builds on work already begun under President Biden's Executive Orders 13985: Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government and 14008: Tacking the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad, as reflected by our engagement with Tribal and state co-regulators and other traditional and new partners.
For the first time, EPA's Strategic Plan includes a strategic goal focused exclusively on addressing climate change and an unprecedented strategic goal to advance environmental justice and civil rights. These priorities are integrated throughout the Plan's programmatic goals and cross-agency strategies, which are supported by long-term performance goals that we will use to monitor and communicate our progress. In addition, the historic investment in EPA from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will expand our capacity to deliver our mission for the American people.
Thank you to the agency leadership, managers, and staff for your commitment and collaboration to develop this bold Strategic Plan. We have already achieved important successes - from taking critical steps to tackle climate change to restoring scientific integrity across the agency to delivering long overdue protections for vulnerable communities.
I look forward to continuing our work together to carry out our ambitious goals of a cleaner, healthier environment for all Americans
Michael S. Regan
Administrator
