Informational Public Webinar on New Exceptional Events Implementation Tools
EPA hosted an informational public webinar on January 11, 2024, from 2:00-3:00 pm ET to provide an overview of the following newly developed, draft exceptional events implementation tools/documents:
- A suite of data visualization tools to help agencies identify event-influenced data and regulatory significance
- A “tiering” document focused on exceptional events demonstrations for events involving wildland fires and PM2.5
- A PM2.5 and wildland prescribed fire demonstration
The PM2.5 and wildland prescribed fire demonstration is currently undergoing the submission and review process at the state level. EPA will make the demonstration publicly available once the Agency has acted on the submitted demonstration.
The data visualization tools and the PM2.5 Wildland Fire Exceptional Events Tiering Document are available for public comment through March 8, 2024. Please provide comments directly to EPA’s non-regulatory docket, EPA-HQ-OAR-2023-0586. Relevant webinar materials include:
