EPA awards $200,000 to LDEQ to improve data quality

(Dallas, Texas – March 5, 2009) The Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $200,000 to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality to manage enforcement and compliance programs for improved data quality. The management project will require the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality to improve the flow of state data to the Airs Facility System (AFS) by pinpointing and addressing current data gaps, creating an automated process to link actions involving High Priority Violators (HPV), and establishing a tool to generate compliance status.
