(Boston, Mass. – Oct. 23, 2006) - Are you an environmental studies, architect, or engineering student? If so, make plans to attend an exciting national conference to learn about issues and meet professionals working throughout New England and the country.
The FREE conference, “Brownfields 2006: A Revolution in Redevelopment and Revitalization” will be held in Boston on Nov. 13-15 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Come learn about environmental assessment, green redevelopment, community involvement and more. Brownfields 2006 will be the largest, most comprehensive annual conference focused on cleaning up and redeveloping abandoned, underutilized, and potentially contaminated properties.
Brownfields 2006 promises many special highlights:
- Michael Porter of Harvard Business School speaking about his efforts to revitalize the inner cities
- Book signing by the Pulitzer prize winning author Richard Russo;
- Walking tours and mobile workshops of area sites that were contaminated and have been cleaned up and redeveloped; and
- A Town Meeting titled “Rebuilding a Sense of Place” moderated Ray Suarez of The News Hour with Jim Lehrer, where you can have your questions on historic parks, riverfront trails, ballparks, live-work lofts, and green buildings or other questions answered by professionals in the field.
The conference also features special trainings and workshops, including Brownfields 101, Brownfields Design Charrette, and Green Buildings and Brownfields: Practical Project Implementation. There will be plenty of networking opportunity at Brownfields 2006; meet key players in Brownfields redevelopment in the exhibit hall with over 270 exhibitors representing a variety of companies and agencies or join us for one of the receptions.
Whether you come for all three days or just for one session, there is no registration fee. Plan to join over 5,000 Brownfields professionals from all over the country at this free training and educational Conference. Online registration ends on Wed. Oct. 25, but anyone can register on site at the conference. For more information on the conference, or to register online, see: www.brownfields2006.org.
We look forward to seeing you in November!
