PRESIDENT BUSH NOMINATES KIMBERLY TERESE NELSON TO BE ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATOR

President Bush today nominated Kimberly Terese Nelson to be EPA Assistant Administrator for Environmental Information.
In this position, Nelson would be the Agency’s chief information officer with responsibility for the security and reliability of the Agency’s information infrastructure, information collection, analysis and dissemination, including the Toxics Release Inventory, and management of the agency’s information technology operations.

Nelson’s previous positions were in the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, most recently as Executive Deputy Secretary and, prior to that, as Director of Program Integration and Effectiveness and as Chief Information Officer. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

The nomination was sent to the U.S. Senate today for confirmation.
