FLORIDA FREIGHT COMPANY EXECUTIVE ARRAIGNED
On Oct. 8, Angel Dante Fuentes, owner of Executive Freight Consolidators of Miami, Fla., was taken into custody and brought before a U.S. Magistrate in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida in Miami. Fuentes was arraigned in court for violating Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations governing the transportation of hazardous materials. Fuentes is alleged to have placed shipments of the pesticide “Dowicide A” aboard commercial aircraft without proper packaging or labeling. The case was investigated by EPA’s Criminal Investigation Division, the Federal Aviation Administration, the FBI and the DOT Inspector General’s Office.
