CHICAGO (Oct. 30, 2006) -The biennial, binational State of the Lakes Ecosystem Conference (SOLEC) will present a science-based assessment of the state of the Great Lakes Basin with special emphasis on chemical integrity Nov. 1-3, 2006.
What: Webcast of SOLEC plenary sessions.
Where: Conference is in Milwaukee, Wis. Here is the Webcast link http://registration.mshow.com/ecs/. Users can visit the site prior to the live transmission to test their connection and ensure that their computers are set up appropriately. Both low and high-speed connections are available. This same location will have a link to the archive of the session a few days after the event.
When: Sessions to be aired include: WEDNESDAY, Nov. 1, starting at 9 a.m. and running until approximately 12:30 p.m. Welcome and Introductions; Session 1-Contaminants, Biotic Communities and Invasive Species; Session 2-Coastal Zones and Aquatic Habitat; Session 3-Human Health, Land Use, Resource Utilization and Climate Change; THURSDAY, Nov. 2, starting at 9 a.m. and running until approximately noon. Highlights from Day 1 and Chemical Integrity Overview; Session 1-Legacy Chemicals; Session 2-Potential and New Chemicals; Session 3-Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care Products; Session 4-Nutrients; Session 5-Biotoxins; Session 6-Monitoring and Modeling.
