Ceremony to Mark Cleanup Completion at Henryetta

Federal, state and local officials will gather in Henryetta Friday to celebrate the cleanup of an abandoned zinc smelter.
"This site is one of three original pilot projects nationwide in the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Community Based Environmental Protection program. It is an outstanding example of the benefits of working with state and local agencies and businesses. Working as partners we can more efficiently and effectively protect the public health and our environment and generate economic development," EPA Acting Deputy Regional Administrator Lynda Carroll said.
