STEVE SNIDER NAMED TO LEAD AGENCY PUBLIC AFFAIRS
EPA Administrator Carol M. Browner has named Steve Snider Associate Administrator of EPA’s Office of Communications, Education and Media Relations. In this position, he will serve as chief Agency spokesman, direct media relations, environmental education, publications and community relations and oversee Agency liaison to constituent groups. Before joining EPA, Snider was president of King Harvest Communications, a media production and strategic communications firm. Prior to that, he was a partner at the media consulting firm of MacWilliams Cosgrove Snider Smith Robinson. He worked in the U.S. Senate as a committee investigator, a special assistant to Senator Lowell Weicker, special assistant to Senator Edward Kennedy, and communications director for Senator Carl Levin. He worked several years as a daily newspaper reporter in Missouri, New Hampshire, Vermont and Washington, D.C. Snider received a bachelor of arts in urban studies in 1975 from the University of Maryland. He is a native of Topeka, Kan.
