Deadlines Approach for 2009 Brownfields Proposals

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Kansas City, Kan., Sept. 3, 2008) - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 7 Brownfields program is now accepting proposals for assessment, cleanup, revolving loan fund and job training projects for 2009 in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.
The deadline to submit proposals to EPA for Brownfields job training projects is October 15, 2008. Assessment, cleanup and revolving loan fund project proposals must be submitted by November 14, 2008.
The 2009 Brownfields Assessment, Cleanup, Revolving Loan Fund and Job Training Guidelines can be found at the EPA Web site.
Additionally, EPA Region 7 will sponsor two free teleconferences and two free one-day workshops to present information and address questions about the assessment, cleanup and revolving loan fund guidelines only.
Teleconferences are scheduled for 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on September 24, 2008, and October 21, 2008.
The first workshop will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on September 25, 2008, at the Carl T. Curtis Midwest Regional Headquarters of the National Parks Service, 601 Riverfront Drive, in Omaha, Neb. A second workshop is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on September 29, 2008, at EPA Region 7 headquarters, 901 N. 5th Street, in Kansas City, Kan.
