EPA, NH DES to Announce Initiative For Reducing Beach Closures in New Hampshire

BOSTON – On Thursday, June 27, at 2:00 PM the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services will be announcing a major initiative to reduce beach closures in New Hampshire as well as the designation of Hampton Beach as one of ten Flagship Beaches in New England eligible for federal assistance to improve water quality.
The announcement will be made at a press conference at the Seashell Stage (across from the casino) on Hampton Beach in Hampton, N.H.
Speakers will include:
- Tom Gillick, Chairman, Town of Hampton Planning Board
Robert W. Varney, EPA New England Regional Administrator
Paul Currier, Director, Watershed Management Bureau, NH Department of Environmental Services
FROM THE SOUTH OR NORTH ON I-95
Take I- 95 to exit 2 (101 East, Exeter, Hampton Beach). After the toll booth bear left onto 101 East. Travel 4.2 miles through one set of lights until the road ends, the ocean will be in front of you. Go right onto Ocean Blvd. The Seashell stage will be on your left, across from the casino.
