(Anchorage, Alaska – March 26, 2007) As part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ongoing effort to protect Alaska waters, EPA has reached a $6,000 settlement with McGee Industries, Inc. (McGee) for alleged construction storm water violations.
- Improper maintenance of erosion and sediment controls at the site;
- Improper selection of control measures for the maintenance area at the site; and
- Various Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) violations.
The NPDES permit program, a key part of the federal Clean Water Act, controls water pollution by regulating sources that discharge pollutants to waters in the United States.
