EPA awards over $70,000 to State of New Mexico for agricultural training and outreach

(Dallas, Texas – April 4, 2007) The U. S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $74,974 to the Regents of New Mexico State University to provide training and outreach to New Mexico's agricultural community. The project will target New Mexico pecan growers and provide educational sessions and training on reduced pesticide use through best management practices. The funds will also be used to develop a reference guide for pecan growers to provide them with ready information on pesticide components and regulatory requirements.
