PHILADELPHIA - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Regional Administrator Thomas C. Voltaggio is the keynote speaker today at a conference on sustainable development in Richmond, Va.
Voltaggio’s message focuses on partnerships and tools.
“EPA has a number of tools to assist local governments, businesses and citizens. Small towns become greener - - through our Green Communities Program. Small
business become more energy efficient. Abandoned industrial sites are cleaned up and redeveloped - - through our Brownfields program. Though such partnerships, EPA can help create a sustainable future,” Voltaggio said.
For the next two days representatives from environment, business, and communities will discuss solutions for sustainablity at the Virginia Sustainable Future II conference. EPA applauds this effort, which builds on previous success, including Virginia’s first sustainable development conference in 1999 which EPA also supported.
The conference will be held from June 6 -8 at the Richmond Marriott. For additional information about the conference contact Marty Malloy at 804-360-1500.
