LOS ANGELES – U.S. EPA Regional Administrator Jared Blumenfeld, along with Fresno Public Utilities Director Thomas Esqueda, and the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB), will announce millions in funding to the state that will improve local water infrastructure and control water pollution statewide resulting in significant public health benefits, especially to the San Joaquin Valley. The funding announced today will be used for a wide variety of water quality projects, including pollution control, water and energy efficiency projects, drinking water infrastructure improvements, technical assistance, and traditional municipal wastewater treatment projects.

In addition, EPA will highlight $51 Million to the state that was used to conserve water through the installation of water meters in communities within the City of Fresno.
