(Kansas City, Kan., April 19, 2012) - EPA and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America will celebrate Earth Day on Friday, April 20, with an event at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City’s Wyandotte County Unit.
The Boys & Girls Clubs has planned the event, which consists of outdoor activities designed to teach about energy and natural resource conservation, a tree planting and a presentation on solar panels. EPA Region 7 Administrator Karl Brooks and Tiffany Henderson, Director of Health and Life Skills for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, will attend the event.

Earth Day began in 1970 as a way of emphasizing the need for a healthy sustainable environment. Since then, millions of people across the nation have joined the movement. This event is one of the ways that EPA is celebrating its partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City to educate kids and teens on how they can contribute to environmental sustainability.
