NOTES TO CORRESPONDENTS
SAN FRANCISCO--The Environmental Protection Agency today announced it has proposed plans to regulate emissions from the Navajo Generating Station and the Four Corners Power Plant located on the Navajo Indian Reservation. The proposed regulations will help ensure protection of Navajo air resources, and are generally based upon state regulations with which the facilities have been voluntarily complying. Once final, the regulations proposed today will remain in effect until the Navajo Nation develops an EPA-approved Tribal Implementation Plan. Additional information, including the proposed plans, will be available today on the EPA Region 9 Web site at www.epa.gov/region09/air.
