Whitman to announce grant awardees for environmental data integration

- Denver -- U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Christie Whitman will be in Denver Thursday, August 8th, at 3:15 p.m. to announce awardees for the National Environmental Information Exchange Network Grant Program (Network). The environmental information grants will go to 47 states, 17 tribes and one U.S. Territory to work with EPA in developing the National Environmental Information Exchange Network. The Exchange Network is a joint project for sharing environmental data between EPA, states and other partners over the Internet.
At tommorow's event the Wind River Environmental Quality Commission -- of the Shoshone and Northern Arapahoe tribes -- will be represented by Executive Director Don Aragon. Jane Norton, Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Health and the Environment, Ernie Robinson, Tribal Councilman from the Northern Cheyenne Tribe and David Millegan, Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Department of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe will also be present at the event to receive awards.
