Winners of the 2001 Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Awards will be announced by EPA in a ceremony scheduled to take place on June 25 at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C. The Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge program promotes pollution prevention and industrial ecology by promoting research into innovations that benefit human health and the environment through seeking less-toxic alternatives to existing technologies, and by seeking to reduce or eliminate waste generation in industrial production. The Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award Ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. in the NAS Auditorium located at 2l0l Constitution Ave. N.W., Washington DC. Keynote remarks will be delivered by Stephen L. Johnson, Assistant Administrator for EPA’s Office of Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances.
