Oklahoma department gets more than $100,000 for technology upgrade

(Dallas, Texas – February 27, 2009) The Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $121,543 to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry to improve compliance and monitoring activities by integrating computer technology into the workflow process. The project’s goals are to develop an electronic forms database using Microsoft Access and to equip inspectors with technologies such as geographic information systems and Web services. The integration will also allow field, lab, and legal personnel to save time during inspections, maintain monitoring information, and prevent data errors.
