(Dallas, Texas – May 10, 2007) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $56,252 to Santa Fe Community College. SFCC will use the funds to develop training sessions based on the Healthy Environments and Living Places for Kids model. The two-hour sessions being developed will focus on the reduction of exposure to indoor environmental asthma triggers. Once developed, the training sessions will be offered to state registered child-care providers at eight Regional Early Care Education Conferences (RECEC) around the state. This grant will allow the college to train at least 450 child-care providers, who have the potential to care for at least 1,800 children.
