SELECTED TO RECEIVE ONE-STOP GRANTS
EPA has selected four state proposals in a highly competitive process from 18 submissions
to receive this year's one-stop reporting grants. The $500,000 grants to the environmental protection agencies of California, Michigan, Nebraska and Virginia were based on clear evidence of an exceptional commitment to effective environmental information management, burden reduction for the regulated community, enhanced public access to environmental information, integrated solutions to environmental problems, and a solid record of accomplishment in implementing environmental reforms in their states. The grants are
to further these efforts and the modernization and development of electronic reporting
of environmental data from the regulated community and the states. Through the one-stop program, EPA seeks to demonstrate practical ways in which it and the states
can work together to reinvent environmental information systems.
