U.S. Department of Energy Wins EPA Partnership Award

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency presented its prestigious Partnership Award to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Policy and Guidance for developing and implementing emergency planning and preparedness programs. One of 11 award winners nationwide, the Department of Energy was recognized during EPA’s tenth Chemical Emergency Preparedness and Prevention conference and award ceremony here on Sept. 22.
EPA’s mid-Atlantic region presents the partnership awards to companies, organizations or individuals who demonstrate exceptional creativity or innovation in state or local chemical emergency preparedness.
This Department of Energy achievements include partnering with EPA’s mid-Atlantic region in developing training courses, guidance documents, reference books and innovative emergency planning tools to support the Emergency Preparedness and Community Right-to-Know Act.
