Press Advisory: EPA to Present Environmental Merit Awards to 33 in New England

BOSTON – A total of 33 individuals and organizations from all six New England states will be honored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency tomorrow in Boston for their contributions to the environment. The ceremony will take place at 10 am on Wednesday, April 18, at Faneuil Hall in Boston.
US Rep. John Joseph Moakley is also being recognized with a "special recognition award" for his years of work on behalf of the environment, both regionally and nationally.
The event is expected to draw most of the winners, as well as hundreds of people who come to recognize these individuals and groups who have shown particular commitment to preserving the region's environment.
The list of winners includes 10 from Massachusetts, two from Rhode Island, seven from Connecticut, five from Maine, six from New Hampshire, and three from Vermont.
