ST. LOUIS MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO RCRA VIOLATION
On Dec. 3, Jack D. Dunn of St. Louis, Mo., pleaded guilty to one felony count of violating the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. Dunn failed to report that 55-gallon drums of hazardous paint wastes from Ray's Automotive in St. Louis had been dumped on the banks of the Mississippi River near the McKinley Bridge. The waste contained lead and was ignitable. Dunn faces a maximum sentence of not more than two years in prison and/or a fine of up to $25,000. The case was investigated by EPA's Criminal Investigation Division, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the St. Louis Trash Task Force.
