LABORATORY TO DISCUSS DRINKING WATER SAFETY AND SECURITY

EPA Administrator Christie Whitman will be at the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission Consolidated Laboratory in Silver Spring, Md., to talk about the increased security and surveillance of the nation’s drinking water treatment facilities. Joining the EPA Administrator at this event is John Griffin, the General Manager of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission; Robert (Bob) Eagan, Vice President Energy, Information and Infrastructure Surety Division, Sandia National Laboratories; Peter Davies, Director Geoscience & Environment Center, Sandia National Laboratories; and Diane van de Hei, Executive Director Association of the Metropolitan Water Agencies.

Directions: From the Capital Beltway (1-495) take Route 29 North (Colesville Road) to Tech Road, about one mile past the intersection of Route 650 (New Hampshire Avenue). Turn right at Tech Road. Laboratory is on the corner of Tech Road and Broadbirch Drive.

Or: Follow Route 650 (New Hampshire Avenue) north from the Capital Beltway to
Route 29. Go northeast on Route 29 to Tech Road. Turn right at Tech Road.
Laboratory is on the corner of Tech Road and Broadbirch Drive.

Or: From I-95 take the Powder Mill Road West exit. Follow Powder Mill Road to
Cherry Hill Road. Turn right on Cherry Hill Road. Follow it to Broadbirch Drive.

Turn left on Broadbirch Drive. Follow it to the intersection of Tech Road. The
laboratory is on the corner of Tech Road and Broadbirch Drive.

Or: From the Rockville Area take Randolph Road east past Rt.29 (Columbia
Pike). Randolph Road becomes Cherry Hill Road. Turn right on Broadbirch
Drive. Follow it to the intersection of Tech Road. Laboratory is on the corner of Tech Road and Broadbirch Drive.
