U.S. EPA Administrator Carol M. Browner will travel to New York City to receive the Outstanding Mother of the Year Award from the National Mother’s Day Committee on Thursday, April 17 at 11 a.m. Browner, the mother of a 9-year old son, will give brief remarks about the important role parents play in protecting their children from environmental hazards, and her own experiences in bringing up a child in today’s world.
Other awardees include: Libby Pataki, First Lady of the State of New York; Rachel Robinson, Founder & Chairperson, Jackie Robinson Foundation; Faye Wattleton, President, Center for Gender Equality; Jane Hanson, WNBC-TV News Anchorwoman; and Bernadette Castro, Commissioner, New York State Office of Parks.
