Officials representing the Environmental Protection Agency, the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation, and the Louisiana Rural Water Association will introduce the Technical Assistance Circuit Rider program.

WHY:
This new watershed protection program was developed jointly to address point source water quality problems in the Lake Pontchartrain Basin. The Circuit Rider will give on-site assistance to operators of small wastewater treatment plants, identifying operational and maintenance problems, developing corrective plans, and training operators.
