FRIDAY: EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson, Congressional Black Caucus Visit Americus on Environmental Justice Tour

(ATLANTA – Sept. 8, 2010) On Friday, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Administrator Lisa P. Jackson and Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) member Congressman Sanford Bishop (D-GA), will visit Americus, Ga. to hold a public town hall meeting as part of their Environmental Justice Tour.
The joint EPA-CBC tour is meant to highlight the impact of environmental issues on communities throughout the country. The tour was kicked off in Mississippi in January, and stops have been made in South Carolina and Missouri. Administrator Jackson’s stop in Georgia will include meetings and public events in Americus.
