MEDIA ADVISORY
WHAT: Reporters covering the Brownfields 98 conference in Los Angeles are
invited on bus tours showcasing local brownfields sites. The tours will
leave from in front of the West Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center
and stop at two Los Angeles Brownfields Case Study Sites -- the former
"prison site" at Santa Fe and Washington Boulevard and the Goodyear Tract
in South Central Los Angeles.

REGISTRATION: Sign up for the tours will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis on
Monday, November 16 at the Brownfields 98 conference information table at
the West Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center. The West Hall entrance
is at Figueroa and 12th Streets. Reservations will not be taken in advance.
Brownfields 98, "The Basics and Beyond," co-sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) offers novices in the brownfields arena an opportunity to learn about the basics and brownfields experts a chance to learn about the latest policy initiatives, projected trends, cutting-edge approaches to cleanup and redevelopment, and the newest brownfields technologies and services from experts in the field.
