EPA ADMINISTRATOR TO ANNOUNCE BROWNFIELDS JOB TRAINING GRANTS

EPA Administrator Christie Whitman tomorrow will announce brownfields job training grants. Whitman will be visiting the Alice Hamilton Job Training Center in Silver Spring, Md., where she will observe a training session and announce the new grants.
Early Thursday morning the House of Representatives passed legislation to further enhance efforts to clean up and revitalize brownfields around the nation. Tomorrow’s grants help teach environmental cleanup skills to people living in low-income areas in the vicinity of brownfields sites.
