EPA Kicks Off Public Awareness Campaign for Vermiculite Attic Insulation which May Contain Asbestos

(05/20/03) On Wednesday, May 21 at 1:00 p.m., EPA Assistant Administrator for the Office of Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances Stephen Johnson will conduct a press briefing to coincide with the commencement of a new public awareness campaign. EPA and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) have jointly developed a new consumer information tool on current best practices for vermiculite attic insulation which may contain asbestos. Johnson will be joined by Kathy Skipper from ATSDR, who will discuss the new public awareness campaign.
