Denver, Colo., Sept. 19, 2006 – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency presented a wastewater management award to the city of Sturgis on Sept. 18.

EPA Region 8 Assistant Administrator Steve Tuber said, “This EPA award recognizes innovative processes and practices at wastewater treatment facilities. Well-managed facilities such as this one help ensure a clean environment and protect the public’s health.”

At the Sturgis Community Center (Meade Room) in Sturgis, S.D., EPA officials presented a Regional First Place Award for outstanding and innovative achievements through operations and maintenance at the Sturgis Wastewater Treatment Facility.
