EPA Awards Bronze Medals to Three Burlington County, N.J. Residents

PHILADELPHIA -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has presented bronze medals to three EPA employees.
Carol Amend of Delran, N.J. received a bronze medal for a national water pollution campaign. Amend, an environmental engineer with the EPA’s Water Protection Division, created an awareness campaign for the poultry industry of the environmental problems caused in water bodies by poultry nutrients. Amend has worked at the EPA for 15 years.
Marie Murphy of Mt. Laurel, N.J. was honored for her part in planning, designing and arranging the moving of EPA’s headquarters last summer. Murphy, a contracting officer, has worked for the EPA for 24 years.
Charles Perritt of Delran, N.J. was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the development of the secretarial curriculum training program. Perritt, a computer specialist, has worked for EPA for 10 years.
"These employees deserve applause for their hard work. Thanks to them, the mid-Atlantic region is a cleaner, safer place to live," said W. Michael McCabe, EPA’s mid-Atlantic regional administrator.
