$485,000 to City of Fayetteville, Arkansas for Sewer Project

(DALLAS – April 29, 2011) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is helping the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, address residential sewer backups, which occur during moderate to heavy rainfall, by replacing undersized sanitary sewer pipe with larger diameter pipe. EPA awarded $485,000 to the city to ensure clean water systems and rehabilitated about 90 manholes.

EPA oversees the protection of water quality, public health and regularly works with community leaders to meet the growing needs and demands of limited water resources. EPA remains committed to developing innovative and sustainable solutions for managing and financing infrastructure with public and private partners.
