Clean Diesel Engine Workshop Held in Chicago

(08/06/03) EPA will be holding a Clean Diesel Engine Implementation Workshop on Aug. 6 and 7 in Chicago. The Highway Diesel Fuel and Engine program establishes new standards beginning in 2007 for heavy-duty diesel vehicles and a maximum sulfur content of 15 ppm for highway diesel fuel used in those vehicles beginning in June 2006. The purpose of this workshop is to assist the regulated community and other stakeholders, including engine manufacturers and truck manufacturers with program implementation and compliance. The workshop is being sponsored by the Engine Manufacturers Association, the American Trucking Association, the Manufacturers of Emission Control Association, the Truck Manufacturers Association, the Truck Renting and Leasing Association and the California Air Resources Board. The workshop includes a series of industry panel sessions to develop for solutions program implementation challenges.
