(Dallas, Texas – February 1, 2007) The City of Espanola, N.M., has been awarded $1.1 million from the Environmental Protection Agency to expand and upgrade its wastewater treatment facility. The funding will allow the city to reduce the ammonia level it discharges into the Rio Grande and increase its treatment capacity. The changes to the facility will help protect the health and safety of local water bodies and provide safe drinking water to communities.
