NH Business Recognized for Conserving and Protecting Local Drinking Water Supplies

BOSTON – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency this week recognized a Candia, NH, business for its volunteer efforts to conserve and protect the New Hampshire drinking water supply sources.

Enviro-Wash Systems received an honors certificate recognizing the company's innovative efforts to reduce water consumption and educate customers about protecting public drinking water supplies. The Drinking Water Protection Business Honors Program is a cooperative program between EPA's New England Office and the New England Water Works Association.

"The involvement of businesses in environmental education is essential to protecting New England's drinking water supplies," said Robert W. Varney, regional administrator for EPA's New England office. "This award winner is planning wisely by encouraging conservation of their valuable drinking water supplies. As demand for clean water supplies increases, more innovative projects such as this are crucial to ensure the future of our water supplies."

The honors certificate was presented last night by Ted Lavery of EPA New England, coordinator for the Drinking Water Honors Program. The presentation was made at a ceremony at a meeting of the Raymond selectman at Raymond High School.
