U.S. EPA TO HOLD PCB TRAINING IN SAN FRANCISCO IN JANUARY

News Media Advisory: Training Session on PCBs and the Mega-Rule
WHAT: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) will hold a free two-day training session on polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and the Mega-Rule to explain the effect the new rules will have on the use, storage, cleanup and disposal of PCBs. The new rule that went into effect three months ago is intended to streamline regulations and covers a broad array of PCB issues. Major changes are in the disposal of bulk waste, decontamination, approval for research and development/treatability studies, coordinated approval with other federal or state laws; and notification and manifesting requirements.
