(Dallas, Texas – June 4, 2007) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently awarded $50,000 to the Border Fair Housing and Economic Justice Center, Inc., in El Paso, Texas. This funding will allow the Center to address some of the border’s most pressing environmental needs: water pollution reduction, safe and potable drinking water, promoting proper solid waste disposal, improving air quality, controlling toxic substances and unsafe household pesticides. The Center will also implement a capacity building community education program to be delivered community-wide.
