BOSTON - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is inviting organizations to submit proposals for grants to support projects that demonstrate farm practices that reduce risks from agricultural pesticides.

Interested organizations in New England should submit a one-page summary of their proposed project by June 15. Grant funding for individual projects will range from $15,000 to $60,000. Those chosen as finalists will be asked to submit a full project proposal by July 15.

The New England Pesticide Program Agricultural Initiative is awarding a total of $127,000 for research, education, training and demonstrations to support the transition away from higher risk pesticides and practices. These grants are among EPA New England's key actions to help the agricultural community implement the Food Quality Protection Act.
