U.S. EPA HOLDS MEETING ON QUALITY PRINTED CIRCUITS INVESTIGATION

(San Francisco)--The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) will hold a public meeting and open house to discuss the concerns of neighbors living near the former old Quality Printed Circuits (QPC)facility in Phoenix, Ariz., which was destroyed in a 1992 fire.
The meeting will be held Thursday, December 19, 1996, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the South Mountain High School Auditorium, 5401 S. 7th St., Phoenix Ariz. The open house will follow and be held from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Community representatives selected by Phoenix community and environmental groups will express their concerns at the general meeting. At the open house, U.S. EPA and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) staff will be available to discuss individual residents' concerns and discuss the Agency's preliminary plans for an investigation.
Residents who live near the former QPC facility requested the meeting to discuss health concerns and the impact of the electronics firm's fire on the neighborhood. Some residents were evacuated during the fire.
