EPA SEEKS COMMENT ON PROPOSED PROTECTIVE TAILPIPE STANDARDS
AND REDUCED SULFUR IN GASOLINE

EPA has established a toll-free telephone line and e-mail addresses to accept public comments on its proposal to reduce emissions from cars, sport utility vehicles, minivans, and pick-up trucks, and reduce sulfur levels in gasoline. The toll-free telephone number is 1-888-TELL-EPA (1-888-835-5372). The telephone system will receive comments 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Wherever applicable, submit full supporting data and detailed analyses to allow EPA to make maximum use of the comments. The Agency has also established a special e-mail address to receive comments on the proposal [email protected]. E-mail comments can also be submitted from the Tier 2 Internet home page. Comments received by telephone and e-mail will have the same legal standing as written comments and testimony at public hearings. Comments must include your name, address and affiliation (such as company, organization or private citizen). Comments can also be submitted in writing to: Public Docket A-97-10, U. S. Environmental Protection Agency, Air Docket Section, Room M-1500, 401 M St. S.W., Washington, D.C. 20460. The proposed rule and related documents are available electronically via EPA’s Tier 2 Internet site at: https://www.epa.gov/oms/tr2home.htm. EPA will hold public hearings in Philadelphia, Pa. on June 9 & 10; Atlanta, Ga. on June 11; Denver, Co. on June 15; and Cleveland, Ohio on June 17. Additional information about the hearings will be printed in the Federal Register, and will be available from the EPA Tier 2 Internet home page.
