EPA Awards Over $100,000 to the Fort Sill Apache Tribe to Develop Environmental Protection Program

(Dallas, Texas – December 12, 2007) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $109,000 to the Fort Sill Apache Tribe to support the development of a core tribal environmental protection program. The tribe will use the funds to maintain a tribal environmental office, address illegal dumping, increase awareness about recycling, develop education and informational material for the tribal newsletter and provide staff with certified water operator training.
