ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS OF SOLAR ENERGY
LISTED ON NEW EPA WEBPAGE
In EPA’s continuing effort to expand access to information about the environment, the agency has established a new webpage on the environmental benefits of solar energy, including the ways in which air pollution can be curtailed by the use of solar power as an energy source. The website was announced at the Million Solar Roofs Initiative (MSRI) meeting at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power on Dec. 9. MSRI is an interagency Presidential Initiative which aims to place one million new solar energy systems in homes and businesses by 2010. The new webpage can be reached through: www.epa.gov/solar and is found by clicking “Pollution Prevention Calculator” under Pollution Prevention Benefits of Renewable Energy.
