- Denver -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will hold an informational meeting on proposed effluent limitations for coalbed methane produced waters. Several technologies are being considered for technical and economic feasibility, including zero discharge through reinjection, infiltration and evaporation, and beneficial use of the effluent for agriculture and wildlife. EPA's main objective in setting effluent limits is to support permitting in Indian Country, fulfilling our trust responsibility with Tribes to implement environmental laws and regulations.
WHAT: Informational meeting to discuss ways to handle water produced during coalbed methane extraction.
WHEN: Tuesday, September 25th from 1-4 p.m.
