EPA TO ANNOUNCE SIGNIFICANT ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE GRANT TO STATE OF CONNECTICUT

BOSTON - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection will hold a press conference at 3 pm Monday, Nov. 8, at the Police Substation at 90 Hallock St. in New Haven to announce a major environmental justice grant to the state of Connecticut.
James Younger, director of the Office of Civil Rights and Urban Affairs at New England-EPA, will announce the grant. Deputy Commissioner Jane K. Stahl of the Connecticut Department of Environmental Planning and Edith Pestana, administrator of DEP's Environmental Equity Program, will also speak.
Leaders of grassroots community groups, including groups from Hartford, Bridgeport, Waterbury and New Haven, have been invited to participate in a round table discussion after the official announcement.
