EPA TO ANNOUNCE SERIES OF ACTIONS REGARDING CHARLES RIVER CLEANUP

BOSTON - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency tomorrow will be announcing more than $17 million in investments and a new series of actions, including several enforcement actions, to clean up the Charles River. The announcement comes in advance of the Head of the Charles regatta this weekend, which attracts 5,000 of the world's finest rowers.
EPA-New England Administrator John P. DeVillars, Robert Zimmerman, executive director of the Charles River Watershed Association, and Charlie Lord, co-founder of the Watershed Institute, will be available to discuss the series of actions at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow at Herter Park off Soldier's Field Road in Allston.
