EPA settles with Ibiden Circuits on hazardous waste violations; $56,684 penalty assessed

CHICAGO (July 7, 2005) — U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 has reached an agreement with Ibiden Circuits of America Corp., Elgin, Ill., for alleged violations of federal rules on hazardous waste.
Ibiden Circuits, located at 875 Tollgate Road, is now in compliance with all Resource Conservation and Recovery Act requirements for managing hazardous waste including: container marking, personnel training, emergency procedures and contingency planning with local officials. The circuit board manufacturer has agreed to pay a fine of $56,684 to settle the violations.
Under RCRA, EPA regulates hazardous waste from production to final disposal.
