Whitman to Announce Major Clean Air Act Enforcement Cases

(04/08/03) EPA Administrator Christie Whitman will announce the settlement of two major Clean Air Act cases totaling nearly $700 million and preventing more than 100,000 tons of air pollution. EPA Assistant Administrator for Enforcement and Compliance Assurance John Peter Suarez, U.S. Department of Justice Assistant Attorney General for the Environment and Natural Resources Division Thomas Sansonetti, and federal, regional, and state officials will join the EPA administrator in making the announcement.
